28 May 2005 – Day before Race Day
Everyone has been busy today getting ready for the start of the race tomorrow. It seems we have all (interpreters and other volunteers) been on our feet all day running around getting supplies and fuel onto the Quest II and attending lectures and briefing meetings with the race organisers. Last minute repairs are needed due to a faulty water pump. Luckily a kind-hearted marine supply shop owner in Plymouth agreed to open specially in the evening to sell me a new pump. Just need to get it fitted before tomorrow’s race!
